Environmental Services

MDE Erosion and Sediment Control certified services for waterfront properties, farm sites, and development projects across Maryland's Eastern Shore, Delaware, and Virginia. Riparian buffer planting, stormwater management, and Bay-aware land stewardship.

The Bay runs through everything we do on the Eastern Shore.

The Chesapeake Bay system and the water quality regulations that protect it determine how you can manage your property. The work we do in this area starts with the anchor credential: MDE Erosion and Sediment Control Yellow Card certification. That authorizes us to design, install, and maintain erosion control systems on our own authority — without waiting on an outside engineer for every project.

Erosion & Sediment Control

MDE Yellow Card certified. Silt fence installed correctly for actual site conditions, erosion control blankets rated for Eastern Shore water flow, sediment basins sized and maintained properly. Your project stays in compliance and doesn’t damage the adjacent stream, wetland, or water system.

Stormwater Pond Maintenance

Many Shore properties have retention ponds or rain gardens designed to filter stormwater. Over time they become overgrown, silted, and less functional. We restore and maintain them — improving filtering capacity and appearance, and keeping the property’s stormwater system working as designed.

Riparian Buffer Restoration

Native plantings along waterways, streams, and wetlands filter sediment and nutrients before they reach the water, stabilize banks, and provide habitat. We design, install, and manage riparian buffer plantings as they establish. Slow work, but foundational to the Bay system.

Seed & Straw Erosion Control

For slopes, cleared areas, and sites where erosion is an immediate risk, we install erosion control blankets and apply seed and straw at proper rates. Technique matters — overseeding and improper straw depth inhibit germination. We know the right approach for Shore conditions.

Land Clearing with Environmental Awareness

When land needs to be cleared, the method matters as much as the outcome. We coordinate clearing with drainage design and site stability to avoid triggering erosion, siltation, or regulatory issues. Connects to forestry and farm maintenance.

Drone Inspection & Documentation

For large properties and complex restoration work, drone photography documents initial conditions, progress, and final restoration — providing records for your files and for any regulatory requirements.

Coordination with regulatory agencies.

Work near water often needs permits. We understand which work requires what permits and can work alongside your environmental consultant or engineer. We implement the erosion control and soil management practices that MDE and Bay Program agencies expect to see on job sites.

We’re licensed in Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia and hold current MDE certifications for erosion and sediment control work. We maintain current knowledge of Chesapeake Bay Program standards and State Department of Agriculture requirements.
