The residential & vacation-home pool

Bermuda Fiberglass Pools

The residential and vacation-home pool — a freeform organic shape with swim-up seating and real swim space that settles naturally into a Shore backyard.

The Bermuda is the freeform pool, and it’s the one most Eastern Shore families picture when they picture a backyard pool. Instead of hard corners, it curves, with swim-up seating built into the shape and enough open water down the middle for laps and pool games. It looks at home in a planted yard rather than a commercial courtyard, which is exactly what you want behind a house in Cambridge, Easton, Chestertown or Rock Hall.

The collection runs from a 12-foot-wide model up to the wide 16-by-40 footprint, with Deluxe versions adding an integrated spa. Several of the sizes carry forward shapes longtime buyers will recognize: the Bermuda 14 was the Laguna, and the 16.35 and 16.40 were the Cancun and Caribbean. Same proven shells, current Latham naming.

The pool that fits a real backyard

A freeform pool needs the yard around it to make sense, and that’s where a one-team build matters. The organic edge wants a hardscape deck that follows the curve instead of fighting it, planting and grading that tuck the pool into the yard, and often a pergola or pavilion for shade off the south side. We design those together from the start, so the deck radius, the plant beds and the shade structure are drawn as one space rather than added on later by different crews.

Why fiberglass behind a Shore home

A Bermuda goes in fast: roughly three to six weeks for the pool itself, so you’re swimming the same season you sign. The Crystite gel-coat surface resists algae and is smooth underfoot, which keeps day-to-day chemical demand and upkeep lower than a plaster pool, and the one-piece shell handles the Shore’s sandy soils and shifting water table without a liner to fail or a wall to crack. It’s the practical choice for a family pool that gets used hard from May to September.

Choose a footprint below, pick a Crystite finish, and we’ll bring the pool, the deck and the planting into one plan and one estimate.
